However, working with a company for the first time can sometimes prompt a few questions and even a few concerns. How successful will we be in interpreting your needs? How can we provide our services most effectively and efficiently?
Laying the Foundation
Just as every architect knows a building’s design is dependent upon its foundation, the success of the project you’ve entrusted to us is determined by the quality of information it is structured around. This is why we go to great lengths to listen to you and learn everything we need to know about your business – its mission, vision and core values.
The first thing we do after being assigned a project is schedule an information-gathering meeting between our development team and your key staff. In essence, we want to know as much about you and your business as we possibly can so we can begin to develop a unique and effective program.
Although this process is somewhat time-consuming, it is crucially important to the development process. It will help you sharpen your project focus and objectives, and will help us assure the marketing piece or training program we produce is not only creatively excellent, but strategically targeted.
Developing the Right Ideas
Despite popular misconceptions, good creative work does not often come in a flash of inspiration; usually it results from a lot of trial and error. This is why we need to take the time to consider several approaches and work through them; then revise them. In addition, there are other practical and functional ends that need to be determined before submitting a draft of the project.
All this, plus the need to schedule our workflow in a business-like fashion, means that we normally ask for a minimum of two weeks, depending on the job’s complexity, before we submit our rough draft for your review. Of course, if you have a rush project or deadline pressure, we adjust our workflow and timing accordingly.
It is our experience that it is best if any rough concepts are presented to your project manager and/or just one or two others. This assures that we all stay focused on the project and are not distracted by too many personal opinions. Depending upon the type of project we are working on, we will either work directly with you on the revisions (if we are developing a communications plan) or will coordinate with the design team to express your opinions and comments.
Assuring Your Satisfaction
We recommend any final work be routed to the appropriate decision-makers for final approval. Also, to avoid costly confusion, it is helpful and important that all communication with us come from one person (i.e. your project manager). During the course of the project we will keep you informed of our progress. Activities that will affect the schedule or budget will be addressed immediately and identified in writing. Our goal is to keep your project moving ahead quickly, smoothly and cost-effectively.
